With a prepaid card, you can indulge in the latest and greatest trends in clothing without overspending—you’ll always know when it’s time to stop and cut back to “browse” only. Save the other outfits for another day and save the money for another time. The most fashionable thing is to save some money for when the next designs arrive. That way you can spread the style the whole year ’round!

This is very beneficial for the fashion designers since the limelight keeps them always in the news, and the news magazines keep publishing these new and creative designs, which startle the people’s imaginations thereby garnering even more sales and more revenues for new exotic fashion adventures.

The total advertising revenue from the sales of various fashion magazines is in the Billions of dollars and this is more than enough money to hire young and ambitious designers to create ever more exotic clothing for the runways, keeping Americans and Westerners always startled and in awe with their new creations.

Red Carpet Styles of the Stars Part III: Oscar 2010′s Three Worst-Dressed

Red carpets hailing in Hollywood’s awards show season bring out en masse the town’s designer-donning divas, intent to capitalize on such priceless opportunity to flaunt on national stage their best, most fashionable selves.  And with on ready their personal stylists, shoppers, designers, and (ahem) plastic surgeons, (not to mention disproportionate share of the world’s gorgeous genes born with), they most often succeed.  Their finished red carpet productions are typically so lovely as to entrance us regular folks in captive audience to suspend otherwise cynical disbelief of what we well know is impossibly manufactured.  Thus, on those rare occasions that a femme fatale’s exorbitant self-fashioning results in fashion fatality, it’s a veritable gift by silver platter to our collective inner schaudenfraude.  Compound such faux pas by its occurrence at the Oscars’ most unforgiving red carpet, and well, let’s just say that by the perpetrators’ own self-incrimination they’ve asked for our self-righteous ridicule.  For your guiltless pleasure, oscar 2010′a three worst fashion fails:

Charlize Theron: It boggles the mind that Charlize could look at the purplish satin thing bundling her flawless figure and fail to see what the rest of the world gawked at once: the two certain roses prominently placed on her chest, cupping their assets in a manner decidedly reminiscent of a pair of cinnamon buns.
  2. Vera Farmiga:  Nominated for her outstanding work in Up in the Air, Vera indeed stood out–by way of her inexplicable choice to don a maroon ruffled layer cake , apparently masquerading as a gown, for her big night.
  3. Zoe Saldana: Avatar’s leading lady graced the Oscars looking like she got lost on her way to prom.  The purple tie-dyed atrocity that Zoe foisted on our eyes—complete with pom-pom bedecked train—made us yearn for way back when she was just a naked blue alien.

  1. Rachel McAdams: Rachel stunned in an Elle Saab Haute Couture gown that managed delightfully to be at once an exceptional work of art and an every-girl’s plausible fantasy.  In printed silk organza subtly evocative of a watercolor in tone and feel, Rachel’s look was an instant splash hit, reaffirming yet again why she’s the freshest breath of air in the industry today.
  2. Carey Mulligan: Hollywood neophyte Carey was 2010′s break-out star, her riveting work in An Education landing her, at just 24, her first Best Actress nomination.  And on the red carpet, Carey proved she’s here to stay too as a risk-taking fashionista.  This brave Brit famously ignored the advice of infamous Vogue Editor Anna Wintour, donning a floor-length black Prada gown complete with voluminous skirt and train.  Immediately a  contemporary classic, Carey’s Oscar inauguration effectively hailed her deserving entry as the new generation’s It Girl.

Come January each year, Hollywood’s biggest and brightest emerge from their holiday respites with camera-ready vengeance; it’s Awards Season, folks, and these stars come to play–name of the game to rule the red carpet.  From the Golden Globes to the Screen Actor’s Guild to the granddaddy Oscars, (not to mention the countless festivals, fetes, soirees, and symposiums in between), it’s three months of heady fashion like no other time of the year.  Indeed, whether nominated, presenting, or more often simply there to preen and pose, the leading ladies of Tinseltown effectively set up red carpet shop–along with, of course, their bevies of personal stylists and shoppers, make-up artists and hair fluffers, and purse-holding arm candy of the moment.

Here they stage a seemingly endless parade of award show fashion shows, swathed in impossible gown creations, often custom-designed for them by world-elite designers, and each more eye-popping and conversation-starting then the last.  These gals know too well the cutthroat industry they’re in, that for the fairer sex in Hollywood, appearance and appearances are in a very real sense their business; they know that their faces, bodies, and what they put on them can be career-dispositive, directly affecting job offers, status points, and that all-important market of media buzz, press and public impression.  And so they dress their parts, awards season red carpet the most vital public stage by which to make whatever statement it may be that their PR teams want declared.  Sexy or staid, sparkly or subtle, color or black, traditional or risk-taking, their choices say it all, and we–and the fashion world–listen up; for whether their strutting selections are pronounced style winners, losers, or massive disasters, it’s these awards–for what goes down on that carpet itself–that set the tone and define the trends until next January comes along.
